Privacy Policy
How CLARIX collects, uses, and protects your data.
1. Introduction
CLARIX ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website, use our SaaS meeting assistant platform, or otherwise interact with our services.
We have designed this policy to be as clear and approachable as our product. If anything is unclear, please contact our privacy team at the address below and we'll be happy to clarify.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide directly to us, information we collect automatically as you use our services, and information from third-party integrations you choose to connect.
2.1 Information you provide
- Account information: name, email, password, profile photo
- Workspace information: company name, billing details, seat assignments
- Meeting content: audio recordings, transcripts, summaries, and chat messages you choose to process
- Support correspondence: any messages you send us
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Log data (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps)
- Device information (operating system, browser version, screen size)
- Cookies and similar tracking technologies
- Aggregate usage analytics for product improvement
3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To provide, maintain, and improve our services
- To process your meeting audio and generate structured outputs (transcripts, summaries, action items)
- We do not use your recordings, transcripts, or meeting content to train AI models
- To respond to your inquiries and provide customer support
- To send you transactional emails and, with consent, product updates
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
- To comply with legal obligations
4. Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- With the service providers (subprocessors) who help us operate: AssemblyAI (transcription), Anthropic (AI processing of transcripts), OpenAI (text embeddings for search), MeetingBaas (meeting bot), Supabase (database and audio storage), Clerk (authentication), Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), and Railway (hosting)
- With your consent or at your direction (e.g., when you push a summary to Slack)
- To comply with applicable law, regulation, or valid legal process
- To protect the rights, property, or safety of CLARIX, our users, or others
- In connection with a corporate transaction (merger, acquisition, or sale of assets)
5. Data Security
We take the security of your data seriously and implement industry-standard safeguards:
- Encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest
- Data scoped to your workspace — one organization can never read another's meetings
- Role-based access within workspaces
- Your recordings and transcripts are never used to train AI models
CLARIX is an early-stage product and is not yet SOC 2 or HIPAA certified — see our Security page for a candid summary. No system is 100% secure; to report a vulnerability, use our contact page.
6. Data Retention
We retain your audio, transcripts, and structured outputs for as long as your account is active, so your meeting library remains available to you.
You can delete any individual meeting at any time, and you can permanently delete your entire account — including all meetings, transcripts, and audio files — from Settings → Account. Account deletion also cancels any active subscription and removes your data from our storage, not just from view.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Delete your personal data
- Restrict or object to processing
- Data portability
- Withdraw consent at any time
To exercise any of these rights, reach us through the contact page. We respond to verifiable requests within 30 days. You can also delete your account and all associated data yourself at any time from Settings → Account.
8. International Data Transfers
CLARIX and its service providers process and store data in the United States. If you use CLARIX from outside the US, you consent to your data being transferred to and processed in the US.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "last updated" date at the top. For material changes, we'll notify you by email and in-app at least 30 days before they take effect.
10. Contact Us
If you have questions about this policy or our data practices, reach us through the contact page and we will respond as quickly as we can.
